Resumo: In this paper I intend to touch on a range of questions which I believe are fundamental for the further development of cultural-historical and activity theory research today. I have looked in more detail at these questions elsewhere (Jones, 2009, 2011a,b) and will, therefore, aim mainly to summarise this previous discussion. But I will also take the opportunity to make some further comments on the implications of these questions for educational theory and practice specifically
