This paper reflects upon the theoretical potential of productivity and heuristics of the concept “racialized discourses” to the materialist discourse analysis field. On the theoretical point of view, the posed concept highlights that the understanding of racial tension is a constitutive problem of the Brazilian social formation, bearing in mind the ways of production that dominate this formation, a fact that poses questions to the idea of conditions of production and to the axis of discursive constitution. On the analytical point of view, such concept imposes the need to, in the mobilization of the analysis device, undertake a deep discursive listening which considers the historical resolutions of the processes of racialization in its relationship with the materialities in discourse, thus reflecting upon the axes of both the circulation and the formulation of discourses. The reflection proposed here leads to the conclusion that the racialized discourses are not limited to discourses of or about race, being it possible to intervene in other discursive instances.
