Dissertação de mestrado que objetiva refletir sobre as práticas pedagógicas no ensino de leitura literária na educação de jovens, adultos e idosos e os obstáculos impeditivos de um ensino de leitura literária voltado à prática social. Verifica se os professores de Língua Portuguesa valorizam o texto literário ou têm preferência por outro tipo de texto, se se consideram leitores ou apenas ledores de textos. Busca também investigar qual o objetivo que desejam alcançar ao incentivar os estudantes a ler, o que consideram mais importante nesta prática e se seguem o que estabelecem as Diretrizes Estaduais de Educação em sua prática cotidiana. Elege Mikhail Bakhtin para interlocução devido ao enfoque social que imprime à linguagem. À luz da concepção interacionista de Bakhtin, realiza uma investigação qualitativa com ênfase na observação crítica e reflexiva sobre o discurso e a prática dos professores de uma escola de EJA de Curitiba a partir de material recolhido mediante questionários, entrevistas e aulas de observação. Dentre outras constatações, a análise desvela práticas pedagógicas que dificultam e até impedem a formação do aluno leitor. Evidencia que a maioria dos professores trabalha leitura literária com intuito de desenvolver o "gosto" pela leitura e não como prática social. Constata a preocupação em ensinar a história da literatura e não a literatura em si. Demonstra que o professor fala muito sobre literatura, mas, paradoxalmente, nas aulas de literatura não há espaço para que o aluno leia. Observa que a leitura literária que o aluno faz fora da escola é ignorada, e, principalmente, considerada de menor valor se comparada à leitura de clássicos indicados e incentivados nas aulas. Atesta que, no plano do discurso, esse professor incentiva o aluno a ler, mas sua prática cotidiana conflita com o que apregoa.Abstract: Study on the literary reading in education of young people, adults and elderly (EJA). Masters dissertation that aims to reflect on the pedagogical practices in teaching reading in the literary aimed at the social practice. It verifies if the teachers of Portuguese language value the literary text or have a preference for another kind of text, if we consider readers of texts or not. Search also to investigate which the objective that desires to reach when stimulating the students to read, what they consider more important in this practical and if they follow what they stablich the State lines of direction of Education in their daily practice. Elect Mikhail Bakhtin for dialogue because of the social focus that gives the language. To the light of the interacionist conception of Bakhtin, conducts a qualitative research with emphasis on critical and reflective observation about the discourse and practice of teachers from a school of EJA of Curitiba from material collects by means of questionnaires, interviews and classes of observation. In the analysis, among other findings reveal pedagogical practices that hinder and even prevent the formation of the student reader. Shows that most teachers reading literary works in order to develop a "taste" for reading and not as social practice.Notes the concern in teaching the history of literature rather than literature itself. Shows that the teacher speaks a lot about literature, but, paradoxically, the lessons of literature there is no room for the student read. Notes that reading literature that the student does outside of school is ignored, and, especially, considered of lesser value when compared to reading the classics and encouraged in the classes indicated.
