AN ANALYSIS OF INTEGRATED SECTOR PROJECT WINES OF BRASIL AS INTERNATIONALIZATION STRATEGY OF BRAZILIAN WINE INDUSTRY

Resumo: The objective of this paper was to analyze the development of the Integrated Sector Project Wines of Brasil from the behavioral approach to the networks internationalization process. The literature included a view of the internationalization process based on the approach of social networks of Nordic School International Business. The methodology consisted in a case study with the analysis of the actions of internationalization adopted by companies linked to the sector project integrated Wines of Brasil during 2002 to 2012. The results show that the formation phase of the project was focused on the strategic development of foreign markets for Brazilian fine wines; during consolidation phase, strategic guidance was aimed at economic development of the national wine industry as well as to service the segment international consumer market interested in new products from fine wine producing regions; the development phase the project establishment of a physical presence in key markets for fine wines and sparkling overall resulting in the need for decentralization of some of the management activities of relationships established by half of the participating organizations. Future studies are suggested taking into consideration the analysis of this behavioral approach in other productive sectors in Brazil using internationalization strategies to obtain greater share of the consumer market.

La bibliografía utilizada incluía un enfoque conductual para el proceso de internacionalización, con base en el enfoque de las redes sociales de la Escuela Nórdica de Asuntos Internacionales. La metodología consistió en la realización de un estudio de caso con el análisis de las acciones de internacionalización adoptadas por las empresas vinculadas a Wines of Brasil en el período 2002-2012. Los resultados indicaron que la formación del proyecto no había dirección estratégica dedicada al desarrollo de los mercados extranjeros para los vinos finos de Brasil; durante la consolidación la orientación estratégica se ha orientado al desarrollo económico de la industria vitivinícola nacional; el desarrollo, el establecimiento de una presencia física en los principales mercados de consumo de vinos finos y espumosos en general, dando lugar a la necesidad de descentralización de parte de la gestión de las relaciones establecidas por las organizaciones de las actividades que participan. Futuros estudios sugieren la consideración de este enfoque conductual en otros sectores productivos en Brasil por medio de estrategias de internacionalización para lograr una mayor participación del mercado de consumo.Este artigo objetivou a análise do desenvolvimento do Projeto Setorial Integrado Wines of Brasil a partir da abordagem comportamental do processo de internacionalização de redes de relacionamentos. A literatura utilizada compreendeu uma abordagem comportamental do processo de internacionalização, consubstanciada na abordagem de redes de relacionamentos da Escola Nórdica de Negócios Internacionais. A metodologia consistiu na realização de um estudo de caso, na análise das ações de internacionalização adotadas por empresas vinculadas ao projeto setorial integrado Wines of Brasil, no período de 2002 a 2012. Os resultados indicaram que: na formação do projeto, houve orientação estratégica voltada ao desenvolvimento de mercado externo para os vinhos finos brasileiros; durante a consolidação, a orientação estratégica esteve voltada ao desenvolvimento econômico do setor vitivinícola nacional; no desenvolvimento, o estabelecimento da presença física nos principais mercados consumidores de vinhos finos e espumantes globais, resultando na necessidade de descentralização de algumas das atividades de gestão de relacionamentos estabelecidos por meio das organizações participantes.
