Resumo: This article partially describes a qualitative phenomenological study on teaching and practice of human care. The study was carried out in the Nursing Course of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 2004 to 2006. It is theoretically and philosophically based on Martin Heidegger’s work. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews, which guiding question was: “How does the professor of the Nursing School insert the theoretical content on human care in his/her discipline”? The phenomenological analysis revealed that professors consider that the theoretical content is developed along with practical teaching, with the interaction with the students, and it is based on the humanization of care.

Fue desarrollado en el Curso de Enfermería de la Universidad Federal del Rio Grande do Sul de 2004 a 2006. Tiene el soporte teórico y filosófico en Martin Heidegger. La toma de las informaciones, realizada por medio de entrevista semi-estructurada, tuvo como pregunta orientadora:”¿Cómo el docente de la Escuela de Enfermería -incluye el contenido teórico sobre el cuidado humano en el desarrollo de su disciplina?”. El análisis fenomenológico permitió desvelar que el docente incluye la teoría considerando que ésta se hace presente en la enseñanza práctica, en la interacción con el alumno y en la humanización del cuidadoEste artigo é parte de um estudo qualitativo, fenomenológico, que tem, como objeto, o ensino e a prática do cuidado humano. Foi desenvolvido no Curso de Enfermagem da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul de 2004 a 2006. Tem apoio teórico-filosófico em Martin Heidegger. A coleta das informações, realizada mediante entrevista semi-estruturada, teve como questão norteadora: “Como o docente da Escola de Enfermagem insere o conteúdo teórico sobre cuidado humano no desenvolvimento de sua disciplina?”.
