Financing Policy for School Transportation in Basic Education: a study of the cost / student / school transportation in the state of Goiás

In this article, we seek to understand how school transport is financed in some cities in the state of Goiás. The objective was to analyze and extract from the related documents the cost per student per year of school transportation in the cities surveyed. This is a documentary, bibliographic and empirical research, based on Brazilian legislation, which deals with the theme and the data made available by various agencies, such as the National Fund for the Development of Education, the Court of Accounts of the cities of the State of Goiás, Goiás State Department of Education and the official e-mail address of the cities researched. The results indicated that the resources invested in school transport are equivalent to a significant part of the Maintenance and Development of Education, reaching 21.8% in the city of Campinorte. Buriti Alegre's cost / student / school transport exceeded the national cost / student / year published by FNDE, for 2016, which was R $ 2,739.87.
