Resumo: | The objective of this article is to present PROJETO BIOS (Bios Project), which has been developed for over six years by the Photography Center of FABICO/ UFRGS, as an activity of research and extension, with the Zoobotanic Foundation of Rio Grande do Sul and, more recently, with public schools in São José dos Ausentes, RS, Brazil. it presents the project's field of action, which gives priority to photography as the main way to support Environmental Education for different types of public. It also reports on how Photography is being applied, comprising its theoretical and philosophical matters and its influence on the development of higher levels of perception, interpretation and criticism of environmental issues achieved by the individuals involved. Concomitantly, it explains how the Theory of the Surrounding Universes (MONTEIRO, 2000) is being developed and applied, as a method of environmental perception and photographic attainment, in the works of Environmental and Biological Photography. |

Graus de São José dos Ausentes, RS . Apresenta as suas linhas de ação, que priorizam a colocação da Fotografia como vetor principal de apoio à Educação Ambiental junto a diversos públicos. Também discorre sob que forma a Fotografia está sendo aplicada, abrangendo suas questões teórico-filosóficas, suas interferências no desenvolvimento de maiores estágios das percepções, leitura e críticas às questões ambientais alcançadas pelos públicos envolvidos.
