Resumo: This article presupposes that the own contradiction of the globalized capitalist system between the reduction of job posts and the demand of workmanship qualification is expressed significantly in the particular situation of the Brazilian youth in the beginning of the twentieth one century. In the capitalism current conjuncture, the claim for scholarity is stressed to insert in the work market, while the school has not have given results to itself and the demand for the survival leads the poorest young people to search for a job to face the social income inequalities, provoking a vicious circle between the greatest scholarity demand and the necessity of having an earlier job, becoming practically irreconcilable, for most of the youth, the relationship between work and school. The most recent IBGE and Diesee statistics were analyzed.

The most recent IBGE and Diesee statistics were analyzed.No sistema capitalista globalizado a contradição entre a redução de postos de trabalho e maior exigência de qualificação de mão de obra se expressa, de forma significativa, na situação particular da juventude brasileira no início do século XXI. Acentua-se a exigência por escolaridade para inserção de jovens no mercado de trabalho, enquanto que a escola não tem dado respostas a esta demanda. Por outro lado, a demanda por sobrevivência leva os jovens mais pobres a buscarem emprego para enfrentar as desigualdades sociais, provocandose um círculo vicioso entre a maior demanda por escolaridade e a necessidade de se ter um trabalho mais cedo. O resultado dessa pesquisa mostra que se torna praticamente inconciliável, para grande parte dos jovens, a relação entre trabalho e escola.
