Resumo: | This article aims to retrace the history of the USP School of Education (FEUSP) by articulating history and memory based on the subjects’ experience. It is organized in three parts: the first covers the 1930s, comprising the creation of the Institute of Education of São Paulo and the foundation of USP. The second, from 1940 to 1960, analyses the setting of the old institute in the Pedagogy Section of the School of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters. The third focuses on the FEUSP in its latest events. It attempts to recover the traditions that gave rise to the institution, their development over time and the ways how the challenges offered by each period were faced by the faculty members. |
