Analysis of the use of platforms, media and social networks for teaching in the accounting course

Resumo: | Purpose: To analyze the perception of Accountancy course professors from Brazilian federal universities regarding the use of platforms, media, and social networks as support tools in the teaching-learning process. Methodology: The research used a survey to collect data. An online questionnaire was applied, using Google Forms, to professors of undergraduate courses in Accounting linked to federal educational institutions in all Brazilian regions. We obtained 154 valid answers from professors from 31 different institutions. For the analysis, the descriptive statistical technique was adopted. Results: The results show that most teachers use Whatsapp and Youtube as media and social networks in the teaching-learning process. As for the platforms, most of the respondents started to use them due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with emphasis on the adoption of Google Meet and Moodle. The use of platforms, media, and social networks helps in the sharing of class materials, interactivity, and speed in contact with the students. However, there is a need for teacher training in the use of such technologies, since some teachers have reported difficulties and point out negative aspects, such as accessibilityproblems for students. Contributions of the Study: The research contributes by confirming results already observed by other researches, as well as by offering insights regarding the use of platforms, media and social networks in the teaching-learning process. Moreover, the research provides knowledge about the perception of teachers regarding the use of such tools, considering aspects that include difficulties, facilities, and benefits of implementation, which enables the evaluation for better application and obtaining favorable results for educational institutions, teachers, and students. |

Metodología: La investigación utilizó una encuesta para recolectar datos. Se aplicó un cuestionario en línea, utilizando Formularios de Google, a profesores de cursos de graduación en Contabilidad vinculados a instituciones educativas federales en todas las regiones brasileñas. Se obtuvieron 154 respuestas válidas de profesores de 31 instituciones diferentes. Para el análisis se adoptó la técnica de la estadística descriptiva. Resultados: Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de los profesores utilizan WhatsApp y Youtube como medios de comunicación y redes sociales en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En cuanto a las plataformas, la mayoría de los encuestados comenzaron a utilizarlas a raíz de la pandemia del COVID-19, destacando la adopción de Google Meet y Moodle. El uso de plataformas, medios de comunicación y redes sociales ayudan en el intercambio de materiales de clase, la interactividad y la rapidez en el contacto con los alumnos. Sin embargo, existe la necesidad de capacitar a los docentes en el uso de dichas tecnologías, ya que algunos docentes reportaron tener dificultades y señalan aspectos negativos, como problemas de accesibilidad por parte de los estudiantes. Contribuciones del Estudio: La investigación contribuye a confirmar resultados ya observados por otras investigaciones, así como a ofrecer luces sobre el uso de plataformas, medios y redes sociales en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Además, la investigación aporta conocimiento sobre la percepción de los docentes respecto al uso de dichas herramientas, considerando aspectos que incluyen dificultades, facilidades y beneficios de implementación, lo que permite la evaluación para una mejor aplicación y obtención de resultados favorables para las instituciones educativas, docentes y estudiantes.Objetivo: Analisar a percepção dos docentes do curso de Ciências Contábeis das universidades federais brasileiras em relação ao uso de plataformas, mídias e redes sociais como ferramentas de apoio no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Metodologia: A pesquisa utilizou-se de levantamento para coleta de dados. Um questionário online foi aplicado, por meio do Google Forms, para docentes de cursos de graduação em Ciências Contábeis vinculados a instituições de ensino federais de todas as regiões brasileiras. Foram obtidas 154 respostas válidas de docentes de 31 instituições diferentes. Para análise, adotou-se da técnica de estatística descritiva. Resultados: Os resultados mostram que a maioria dos docentes utilizam o Whatsapp e Youtube como mídias e redes sociais no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Quanto as plataformas, a maioria dos respondentes começaram a utilizar em decorrência da pandemia de COVID-19, com destaque para a adoção do Google Meet e Moodle. O uso de plataformas, mídias e redes sociais auxiliam no compartilhamento de materiais de aula, interatividade e rapidez no contato com os discentes. Todavia, há necessidade de capacitação dos docentes para a utilização de tais tecnologias, uma vez que alguns docentes relataram terem dificuldades e pontuam aspectos negativos, tais como problemas de acessibilidade por parte dos discentes. Contribuições do Estudo: A pesquisa contribui ao confirmar resultados já observados por outras pesquisas realizadas, bem como por oferecer insights em relação ao uso de plataformas, mídias e redes sociais no processo de ensino-aprendizagem.
