Aprendizado duradouro das Leis de Newton : uma abordagem baseada em Unidades de Ensino Potencialmente Significativas

The present work was based on Ausubel’s Theory of Meaningful Learning and implemented a Potentially Significant Teaching Unit (UEPS) with the purpose of teaching Newton’s Laws to two first-year high school classes. The central objective was to present the UEPS methodology and evaluate its impact on classes, adopting a qualitative approach. Data collection played a crucial role in the development of the study. We used two complementary approaches: observation recorded in a logbook and the application of questionnaires answered by students. The results obtained indicate that the established objectives were achieved. The approach adopted favored meaningful learning, enabling a solid and lasting understanding of Newton’s Laws on the part of students. This work highlights the effectiveness of Ausubel’s Meaningful Learning Theory and UEPS as innovative pedagogical strategies in science teaching and emphasizes the importance of meaningful learning in the construction of knowledge and the development of more effective and lasting learning in the field of science.
