O povo indígena Payayá na luta por uma educação diferenciada

Resumo: This text approaches the research theme: the struggle for differentiated education of the Payayá indigenous people. It deals with the experiences of a village located in Chapada Diamantina/Ba and its expectations regarding the education in force in the country in relation to the native peoples. The preliminary results of the research show a greater contingent in the basic education of indigenous people, covering partially or in a limited way the education of young people and adults in basic education. The highlighted issue concerns the recognition of indigenous rights in relation to differentiated school education and traditional education, respecting their culture and environmental preservation. The research methodology is exploratory and descriptive, using primary data and bibliographic references that constitute the theoretical foundation of this work. In the study, it was necessary to contextualize their advances and the various relationships with existing and experienced knowledge in the Territory in relation to current legislation. The fight for specific and differentiated education continues as a claim in the actions and resistance movements established in recent years.

Trata-se das experiências de uma aldeia localizada na Chapada Diamantina/Ba e suas expectativas no que diz respeito a educação vigente no país em relação aos povos originários. Os resultados preliminares da pesquisa demonstram maior contingente na educação fundamental dos indígenas, abrangendo parcialmente ou de forma limitada a educação de jovens e adultos no ensino fundamental. A questão evidenciada diz respeito ao reconhecimento dos direitos indígenas em relação a educação escolar diferenciada e a educação tradicional, respeitando sua cultura e a preservação ambiental. A metodologia da pesquisa é de natureza exploratória e descritiva, mediante dados primários e referenciais bibliográficos que constituem a fundamentação teórica deste trabalho. No estudo foi necessário contextualizar os seus avanços e as diversas relações com os saberes existentes e vivenciados no Território em relação à legislação vigente.
