Atividades práticas no ensino de ciências no segundo ciclo da rede municipal de Aracaju/SE

Resumo: The present research is part of the discussion on the use of practical work as a tool the teaching and learning process in science teaching, as the use of this type of methodology provides students the opportunity to experience the process of scientific research, construction of concepts and formulation of hypothesis, thus helping to bring about a meaningful learning. This dissertation has as the investigative problem analyze the perception of the use of practical activities in Science teaching in middle school in some schools in the city of Aracaju, SE. Therefore, the practical activities were categorized according to the concepts of Leite (2001) and Dourado (2001). Questionnaire and interview were the instruments used to collect data. Thus, the first step of this research was the use of questionnaires with 16 science teachers from the 6th year in Aracaju public schools. The analysis of the questionnaires allowed create categories for the selection of teachers for the second step of data collection: the interview. Three different categories were created to distinguish teachers with different professional profiles and five of them were interviewed. Despite the practical work is consider a methodological strategy favorable to the teaching an learning process in science classes, the data analysis gave evidences that the use of this tool in daily school routines faces constant difficulties.

Despite the practical work is consider a methodological strategy favorable to the teaching an learning process in science classes, the data analysis gave evidences that the use of this tool in daily school routines faces constant difficulties.Esta pesquisa se insere na discussão sobre o uso do trabalho prático como instrumento no processo de ensino e aprendizagem no ensino de Ciências, pois a utilização deste tipo de metodologia oferece ao aluno a oportunidade de vivenciar o processo de investigação científica, de construção de conceitos e de formulação de hipóteses, contribuindo assim para que haja uma aprendizagem significativa. Assim, esta dissertação teve como problema instigador, analisar a percepção do uso de atividades práticas no ensino de Ciências no segundo ciclo do ensino fundamental em algumas escolas da rede municipal de Aracaju, SE. Para tanto, as atividades práticas foram categorizadas segundo os conceitos de Leite (2001) e Dourado (2001). Foram utilizados como instrumentos de coleta de dados o questionário e a entrevista. Desta forma, a primeira etapa da presente pesquisa consta da aplicação de questionários com 16 professores de Ciências do 6° ano da rede municipal de Aracaju. A análise dos questionários permitiu criar categorias para a seleção dos professores para a segunda etapa de coleta de dados: a entrevista. As entrevistas foram realizadas com cinco professores representantes de três categorias distintas, criadas para abranger diferentes perfis dos docentes.
