Resumo: | This research his Course Completion Work had the purpose to verify "The formation of the reader through the literary reading of". The purpose of this research was to analyze and understand what influences the Harry Potter books have on the training of new readers, as well as their current potential in reading mediation activities in the public library. Applying cultural action as a specialized activity and using the Harry Potter collection as a resource, observed the acceptance, reactions and effects in the community of users of an information unit that matched the characteristics sought. The Clodomir Silva Municipal Library was chosen for the field observations. The theoretical framework dealt with the concepts of literary reading, reading mediation, cultural action and the work Harry Potter. The methodology was active, of an exploratory nature, qualitative nature, and the procedures were executed in the form of participant research. A cultural action was promoted through the use of the Harry Potter literary collection, which was considered a best seller in the international arena. Then, the observation followed the effects of cultural action among the community of users, through verification of the circulation of the book components of the collection, individualized mediation of their reading and also interviews with the library staff. At the end of the research procedures and analyzes, the following final considerations and recommendations were elaborated in order to contribute to the formation of readers in the public library through the Harry Potter collection. The general objective was reached, and cultural action and field research and observations allowed us to gather relevant information to know how mediation of literary reading with the Harry Potter Collection functioned in a public library. Immediately after cultural action, the books of the collection became more sought after, as other users suggested other Best-Sellers titles to compose the collection and to develop cultural actions as well. So we felt that cultural action served as an attraction for young people, in search of news, working as if it were a marketing strategy, with a multiplier effect among users. |

O propósito dessa pesquisa foi analisar e compreender quais são as influências que os livros da coleção Harry Potter têm na formação de novos leitores, assim como seu potencial atual nas atividades de mediação de leitura na biblioteca pública. Aplicando a ação cultural como atividade especializada e utilizando a coleção Harry Potter como recurso, observou a aceitação, reações e efeitos na comunidade de usuários de uma unidade de informação que correspondeu às características buscadas. A Biblioteca Municipal Clodomir Silva foi a escolhida para as observações de campo. O referencial teórico tratou dos conceitos de leitura literária, mediação de leitura, ação cultural e a obra Harry Potter. A metodologia foi ativa, de cunho exploratório, natureza qualitativa, e os procedimentos foram executados na forma de pesquisa participante. Foi promovida uma ação cultural, por meio do recurso da coleção literária Harry Potter, que foi considerada um best seller em âmbito internacional. Então, a observação acompanhou os efeitos da ação cultural entre a comunidade de usuários, por meio de verificação da circulação dos livros componentes da coleção, mediação individualizada de sua leitura e também entrevistas com a equipe de profissionais da biblioteca. Ao final dos procedimentos de pesquisa e as análises, foram elaboradas as seguintes considerações finais e recomendações, no sentido de contribuir para a formação de leitores na biblioteca pública, por meio da coleção Harry Potter. O objetivo geral foi atingido, sendo que a ação cultural e as pesquisas e observações em campo permitiram coletar informações relevantes para conhecermos como a mediação de leitura literária com a Coleção Harry Potter funcionou numa biblioteca pública. Imediatamente após a ação cultural, os livros da coleção passaram a ser mais buscados, assim como outros usuários sugeriram outros títulos de Best-Sellers para compor o acervo e desenvolver ações culturais também.
