Preservação digital na biblioteca universitária : um estudo de caso

Presents as the theme preservation of digital documents in the context of a university library. It aims at evaluating the effectiveness of strategies for preserving digital information adopted by the Central Library of the Federal University of Sergipe. Specific objectives are to: understand what is digital preservation, their concepts, aims and importance in the current information society, to identify the strategies used by professionals working in libraries to promote digital preservation and seek possible solutions to policy problems digital preservation adopted by Bicen / UFS. The methodology, as to the procedures was the case study with a questionnaire directed to chief Bicen / UFS and literature. How to approach the problem, qualitative research was adopted for the presentation of the results, where the latter were analyzed in the light of literature on the subject of the work. It was found that there is a concern with the librarian digital preservation of documents, as well as questions that guide this practice in information unit all though much needs to be done regarding the question. We propose solutions to these difficulties, in order to optimize the preservation of digital documents that the library has. It is hoped that this study will bring significant contributions to the field of librarianship, especially the research line "Information & Technology" and inspire other discussions on this topic.
