O brincar na intervenção terapêutica ocupacional: uma revisão de literatura

Resumo: Playing is one of the ways in which children relate to, learn from, and understand the world It is through this activity that they learn to solve problems that may arise, deal with failures, and try new ways of coping. As one of the areas of occupation of human life, and recognizing the importance of this occupation for the development of children and adolescents, several occupational therapists, such as Bundy, Staggnit and Ferland, sought to define play as an object of study. Objective: To analyze the Brazilian publications that deal with the use of play in the practices of Occupational Therapy. Method: This study adopted a critical review of the literature. , the searches occurred in the Scientific Eletronic Library Online (Scielo) and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases. Results / Discussion: We found 64 articles out of which 58 were excluded and 6 fit the inclusion criteria. Conclusion: It was concluded that Brazilian occupational therapists have used play in their interventions as a therapeutic resource to achieve different goals; that playing has been widely used in occupational therapy interventions as a means, but in a few studies it has been used as an end in itself, which suggests that these professionals are not appropriating, in fact, this human occupation, so important for the development child.
