As relações de diversidade de gênero e sexualidade na escola: uma prática necessária de reflexão pedagógica

This article is the result of educational scientific studies and research, entitled "The Relations of Gender Diversity and Sexuality at School: A Necessary Practice of Pedagogical Reflection," aimed to analyze gender and sex diversity at school as a practice of pedagogical reflection in conception of individuals aware of their bodies and of themselves. For Foucault (1977), “men and women who move away from the forms of masculinity and femininity are considered different, they experience practices of discrimination”. In this process, the social function of family and school complement each other, they are fundamental for expanding studies and knowledge. Therefore, the educating school deals with political and intentional ideologies when educating people. Says Paulo Freire (1999), “there is no neutral education, the school has a conservative function, which reflects and reproduces injustices in society, at the same time, and it is an innovative force”. The school, in its pedagogical work, needs to pay attention to innovation, not perpetuating the harmful hate relationships, seen in gays, transvestites, lesbians, in attention to the necessary conditions, and concerning the reflection of the theme regarding respect, valuing people, of the human being as a whole and educators must be aware of this process.
