Resumo: The information literacy refers to the learning process needed to develop the ability to seek and use information. The implementation of Information Literacy Programs (ILP) in Basic Education requires identification of learning content more relevant IL, as well as understanding the structure of the school curriculum. To this end, the article presents a review covering the history of the emergence of IL, some assumptions and learning content. It then presents the main features of some models of curriculum design. The more traditional focus on the disciplines, knowledge areas and common core, and innovative models focus on the learner, curriculum integration, humanistic vision and curriculum development process. Additionally, it presents the current curriculum in public schools in Brazil. Concludes from the review that it is possible to search the major curriculum models in Brazil and the possibilities for making effective learning of the content of IL. Finally, it emphasizes the need to invest in researches that relate IL and the curriculum.

A implantação de programas de letramento informacional (LI) na Educação Básica requer identificação dos conteúdos de aprendizagem de LI mais relevantes, bem como compreensão da estrutura do currículo escolar. Para tanto, o artigo apresenta revisão abrangendo a evolução histórica de LI e noções sobre os conteúdos de aprendizagem. Em seguida, apresenta características dos principais modelos de elaboração curricular. Os modelos mais tradicionais centram-se nas disciplinas, áreas do conhecimento e núcleo comum, e os modelos inovadores centram-se no aprendiz, na integração curricular, na visão humanística e no processo de desenvolvimento curricular. Adicionalmente, apresenta o modelo de currículo vigente nas escolas públicas do Brasil. Conclui que a partir da revisão é possível identificar os principais modelos curriculares no Brasil e as possibilidades para tornar efetiva a aprendizagem dos conteúdos de LI.
