Resumo: At the end of the 20th century, it is possible to observe a growing proliferation of legal recognition of sign languages. This article aims to discuss sign language policies based on the intelligibility grid of linguistic inclusion. Based on authors who discuss inclusion from a post-structuralist perspective, as well as on authors of the Linguistic Policy, the discussion operates on the axis of linguistic management and takes as observable material a set of explicit policies for legal recognition of sign languages in 46 national states. From this discussion, it is assumed that the linguistic inclusion of sign languages constitutes government practices for the populations of deaf people in a national territory. Keywords: Language policies. Legal recognition. Sign languages. Deaf people. Language inclusion.

Language inclusion. Reconhecimento legal. Línguas de sinais. Surdos.
