Competencies management: how the employees notice this management’s model?

Resumo: The study analyses the policies that guide the conception of the Competencies Management model, adopted in a big service dealer company in Fortaleza, from the employees’ perception. The research analyses also the company’s employees’ profile, the level of satisfaction with the performance’s analyses created by the new model, and the existence of the connection between this profile’s elements and the perception. It was done a descriptive and quantitative analyses, according to Brito’s model (2005), in a universe of 1.319 employees, in may, 2005, consulted by a survey, with 683 respondents. The results revealed the basis’ preference for the Traditional Management model and also that the perception declared by the employees makes evident an opening to the new Politics of People Management signalized in the new PCCS, that means availability of each worker, individually, to develop competencies and to add value to the company’s Mission, Business, Future Vision and Strategies. However, the adhesion appears associated to the consideration of Time of Service and to mechanisms of value increase and real and predictable career progression that can give security to the worker.

A pesquisa analisa ainda o perfil dos empregados da companhia, o grau de satisfação com a avaliação de desempenho criado pelo novo modelo, e a existência de correlação entre elementos desse perfil e a percepção. Realizou-se uma análise descritiva e quantitativa, de acordo com o modelo de Brito (2005) sobre o universo de 1.319 empregados, em maio de 2005, consultados por meio de uma survey com retorno de 683 respondentes. Os resultados revelaram a preferência da base pelo Sistema Tradicional de Gestão e apontaram também que a percepção declarada pelos empregados evidencia abertura para as novas Políticas de Gestão de Pessoas sinalizadas no novo PCCS, o que significa disposição de cada trabalhador individualmente para desenvolver competências e agregar valor à Missão, Negócio, Visão de Futuro e Estratégias da empresa.
