Resumo: The Performance Evaluation by Competences is very useful for enterprises that apply or intend to apply People Management by Competences, as Centro Oftalmológico de Diagnose e Terapêutica, that focus on the development of their employees. This study has as objective to systematize the progression of people in the charges and supply the base for the planning of this development. About the methodology, the study was: qualitative, descriptive, applied, documentary, bibliographical and study of case. It is noticed that the actual management sees people as important elements for the maintenance of the quality, what is related to the Organizational Strategy. It is concluded that the Competence Measuring, built through the Behavior Inventary can be used for all the employees, considering the Function Competence Level. Therefore, it can be observed that with the detailing of the evaluation and application methodology, it has the base to introduce integrally this tool at CODT.

Therefore, it can be observed that with the detailing of the evaluation and application methodology, it has the base to introduce integrally this tool at CODT.A ferramenta de Avaliação de Desempenho por Competências é de grande utilidade para as empresas que aplicam ou pretendem aplicar a Gestão de Pessoas por Competências, como o Centro Oftalmológico de Diagnose e Terapêutica, que tem focado esforços no desenvolvimento de seus colaboradores. Este trabalho visa sistematizar a progressão das pessoas nos cargos e fornecer base para o planejamento deste desenvolvimento. Quanto à metodologia, o estudo caracterizou-se como: qualitativo, descritivo, aplicado, documental, bibliográfico e estudo de caso. Percebe-se que a organização vê as pessoas como elementos importantes da manutenção da qualidade, que está vinculada à Estratégia Empresarial. Conclui-se que o Medidor de Competências, construído por meio do Inventário Comportamental pode ser utilizado para todos os colaboradores da empresa, considerando-se o Nível de Competência da Função.
