Resumo: Considering public school permanent teachers education and the new possibilities offered by Distance Education mediated by Information and Communication Technologies, a virtual constructivist learning environment was developed in order to facilitate a continuous process of reflection-in-action and to work out teachers professional knowledge. This process is experienced by the teacher via the interactions with the virtual environment, tutors and a community of teachers, which aim to match the selected teachers training theoretical framework and his/her didactic practice. This paper presents the environment s instructional design, its main components, characteristics and proposals for future studies.

This paper presents the environment s instructional design, its main components, characteristics and proposals for future studies.Tendo em vista o contexto da formação do professor da escola pública e as possibilidades abertas pela Educação à Distância mediada pelas Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação, foram dedicados esforços no desenvolvimento de um ambiente virtual guiado por pressupostos construtivistas. A caracterização do ambiente virtual construtivista desenvolvido é adequada à concepção de formação continuada como um processo que propicie a vivência da reflexão-naação e que tem como objetivo a perspectiva evolutiva do conhecimento profissional do professor. Esse processo é vivenciado pelo professor a partir da interação com o ambiente virtual, com tutores e com uma comunidade de professores, na direção da coerência entre pressupostos teóricos de formação e a prática pedagógica.
