Inquiry-based teaching, science center, scientific and epistemic practices: analysis of the pedagogical intervention

Resumo: This work analyzes a pedagogical intervention, anchored in inquiry-based teaching and carried out in a science center, by a general education Physics teacher with high school freshman studentes. It is na interventional, qualitative research whose objective was the study of the development of scientific and epistemic practices in students. To analyze these practices we used the discursive interactions obtained through the audio and video transcripts of the recording of the intervention at the science center. The results indicate the development of scientific practices and epistemic ideas, mainly evaluation of ideas (PE3), legitimation of ideas (PE4), survey and testing of hypotheses (PC2) and working with new information (PC1), contributing to the process of construction of scientific knowledge. Final considerations discussed for other educational activities of this nature and cannot be promoted in school activities in order to bring scientific contributions.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa e do tipo intervenção cujo objetivo foi analisar o desenvolvimento de práticas científicas e epistêmicas destes estudantes. Para análise destas práticas utilizamos as interações discursivas obtidas por meio das transcrições em áudio e vídeo da gravação da intervenção no centro de ciências. Os resultados indicam o desenvolvimento de práticas científicas e epistêmicas, principalmente a avaliação de ideias (PE3), legitimação de ideias (PE4), levantamento e teste de hipóteses (PC2) e trabalho com novas informações (PC1), trazendo contribuições para o processo de construção de conhecimento científico. Ao final discutimos implicações para que outras atividades dessa natureza possam ser desenvolvidas nos espaços escolares e não escolares a fim de trazer contribuições para educação científica.
