Development of thought and school education: stages of concept formation as per Leontiev and Vygotsky

Resumo: This article focuses on the development of thinking in its connection with language, given the role played by both in the general configuration of the human psyche. Its goal is to point out the relationship between that development and schooling, since between them there is a reciprocal conditionality relationship. Affirming the theoretical-methodological unity between A.N. Leontiev and L.S. Vygotsky’s propositions, the analysis in question bolsters in the historical-cultural perspective of human development as originally formulated by these authors. Throughout this exhibition, and taking the periodization of the development of thinking as an analysis axis, the unique role of education in its promotion, and necessary strengthening of pedagogical theories become evident, such as the historical-critical pedagogy, to advocate the transmission of historically systematized knowledge embodied in scientific concepts, as a primary function of the school.

Su objetivo es señalar la relación entre el referido desarrollo y la educación en la escuela, ya que entre ellos existe una relación de recíprocas condiciones. Afirmando la unidad teórica y metodológica entre las proposiciones de A.N. Leontiev y L.S. Vigotsky el análisis en curso se sustenta en la perspectiva histórica y cultural del desarrollo humano tal como fue formulada originalmente por estos autores. A lo largo de esta exposición y con el eje analítico en la  periodización del desarrollo del pensamiento se destaca el papel único de la educación en la escuela en su promoción y el necesario fortalecimiento de teorías pedagógicas, tales como la pedagogía histórico-crítica, abogando por la transmisión de conocimiento sistematizado históricamente, encarnado en conceptos científicos, como función esencial de la escuela. Este artigo focaliza o desenvolvimento do pensamento em suas articulações com a linguagem, haja vista o papel desempenhado por ambos na configuração geral do psiquismo humano. Seu objetivo é apontar as relações entre o referido desenvolvimento e a educação escolar, posto que entre eles exista uma relação de condicionabilidade recíproca. Afirmando a unidade teórico-metodológica entre as proposições de A. N. Leontiev e L. S. Vigotski, a análise em tela ampara-se na perspectiva histórico-cultural do desenvolvimento humano tal como originariamente formulada por estes autores.
