Resumo: | The aim this paper is discuss about the continuing formation process in PhysicalEducation (PE) field. This is one descriptive research, with one qualitative approach. Westart from the idea what the process of the continuing formation can be represent oneprofessional dimension what allows constant critical reflection about the daily teachingwork. But, hegemonically, the continuing formation is understood, how one updatesprocess in short courses. Thus, is fundamental enlarge this comprehension and thinkabout the way more qualified for deal with the continuing formation in work teaching. |

O objetivo principal deste artigo é discutir sobre a compreensão de formação continuada no campo da Educação Física (EF). Esta pesquisa se caracterizou como sendo de natureza descritiva com uma abordagem qualitativa. Partimos do pressuposto que processos de formação continuada podem representar uma dimensão profissional que permite constante reflexão crítica sobre o cotidiano do trabalho docente. Porém, hegemonicamente, a formação continuada ainda é compreendida como “capacitação”, geralmente sistematizada na forma de cursos de atualização, de curta duração.
