Resumo: | This article reflects on the author's constitution process as a researcher and, at the same time, the construction of her research at the master's level (1999-2001), focused on the children's perceptions (from 5 to 6 years old) of childhood in a public institution of Early Childhood Education. The text retrieves and expands basic concepts of the aforementioned research; it presents data collected and analyzed at that time, as well as expands the interpretation of these considering the recent theoretical studies made by the author, arising, especially, from the field of phenomenology, art and imagination elaborated in different areas. However, more than refuting the results obtained in 2001, I highlight the possibility of deepening, expanding the dialogue with children, reaffirming the richness of poetic imagination in childhood; the complexity of their speeches and drawings, as well as of their views on their childhood in the daycare center. |

Para tal, o texto recupera e amplia conceitos basilares da pesquisa citada; reapresenta dados coletados e analisados na época, bem como expande a interpretação dos mesmos, considerando os recentes estudos teóricos feitos pela autora, advindos, especialmente, do campo da fenomenologia, da arte e da imaginação, elaborados em diferentes áreas.
