The contextualization of teaching physical education in Pelotas municipal school system: a critique of capitalist education system

Resumo: This research was aimed to comprehend the relation between the social context of schools and the work of teachers of physical education in the city of Pelotas. The methodology had as parameter the selection of schools by its IDEB grade and semistructured interviews. From the results, we observe that the school with high IDEB has more problems associated to lack of materials for classes, and the devaluation of physical education. On the other hand, in the schools where the IDEB was low, it was possible to observe that one of the most significant problems was related to the lack of perspective in the formation of students, due to their socioeconomic condition, even though they valorize the teachers.

La metodología tuve como parámetros de selección el IDEB y entrevistas semiestructuradas. Con los resultados se observó que la escuela con alta IDEB tiene los mayores problemas de falta de material para las clases y de la depreciación de la disciplina  de EF. En la escuela de bajo IDEB, se observó que uno de los mayores problemas es la falta de perspectivas de futuro de los estudiantes debido a su estatus socioeconómico, pero con una apreciación de los maestros.Esta pesquisa buscou compreender a relação entre o contexto social das escolas e o trabalho docente de Educação Física na rede municipal de Pelotas. A metodologia teve como parâmetro de seleção das escolas a nota do IDEB e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Com os resultados observamos que a escola com IDEB alto têm como maiores problemas a falta de material para as aulas e a desvalorização da disciplina de EF.
