Resumo: The text deals with the analysis of physical education classes taught in public institutions of basic education in Germany and Brazil considering the social function of the school, the understanding of education, class and movement, which are part of the body culture. The results allow us to conclude that the vital needs for the process of humanization, knowing yourself and action capabilities, are independent of the region on planet Earth we live in, because we only become human beings with the appropriation of culture.
