Resumo: This study aims to analyze the relationship between scholarship and academic performance in Physical Education course at institutions of higher education from Brazil. The research sample consisted of 24.289 students from higher education courses in Physical Education who took the National Exam of Student Performance in 2017. We used descriptive statistics for data analysis. From the analysis, we identified that the average performance of scholarship is greater than that of non-scholarship even considering the sex, institution type and geographic area of residence of the participants. The results obtained indicate that the investment in student assistance is important for improving the quality of the training of students at higher education institutions in Brazil.

A amostra da pesquisa foi composta por 24.289 estudantes dos cursos superiores em Educação Física que realizaram o Exame Nacional de Desempenho dos Estudantes no ano de 2017. Estatística descritiva foi utilizada para a análise dos dados. A partir da análise identificamos que o desempenho médio de bolsistas é maior que o de não bolsistas mesmo considerando o sexo, tipo de instituição e região geográfica de residência dos participantes.
