Arquivologia e patrimônio cultural: uma discussão necessária

This work presents a study about the understanding of cultural heritage by the archivology students of the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). It seeks to analyze the possible dialogue between Archival and Cultural and Documentary Heritage. During the Course of Archivology, a need was identified for deepening on the subject. Through this, it is sought to emphasize the importance of permanent archives as a documentary heritage. For that, a theoretical discussion about Cultural Patrimony was carried out and it is analyzed how the Brazilian Constitution approaches this subject between 1934 - 1988. Also discussed concepts referring to the area of the Archivology as the archival document, as a documentary patrimony. The methodology used was a questionnaire survey sent by e-mail to the students of the Course of Archives - UFSM, composed of 15 questions (multiple choice and dissertations), which enabled the data collection and, subsequently, the analysis by Through tables and graphs. The results show that there is a discussion about cultural heritage among the students of the UFSM Course of Archival Sciences happening, however superficial. Thus, this study proposes the creation of a complementary undergraduate or study group for those interested in deepening the knowledge about this topic.
