Resumo: | This article is part of the Master's thesis in Applied Linguistics, defended in 2022, at the Taubaté University (UNITAU). It aims to propose activities for reading and interpreting statistical-mathematical graphs of the lines, columns, bars and sectors types as a compositional element of texts or as a text in Portuguese, for Elementary and High School. To do so, we resort to the theoretical foundation based on Bakhtin (2003), Lopes-Rossi (2011), Solé (1998), Marcuschi (1996, 2008), Koch (2005), among other authors who follow the Bakhtinian conception of language and the sociocognitive conception of reading and discursive genres, in addition to Cazorla (2002), Morais (2010), Oliveira and Macedo (2018) and Martins (2018) on statistical-mathematical graphs. It is a qualitative bibliographical research that initially presents, as a motivation, the inadequacy of approaching this genre in Portuguese Language classes. As a result, a pedagogical work strategy is suggested for reading statistical-mathematical graphs, in Portuguese language classes, based on steps for developing reading activities and three examples for applying and proving the feasibility of these steps in order to increase the reading proficiency of statistical-mathematical graphs, which are part of discursive genres or which are characterized as an example of a self-sufficient discursive genre in the pedagogical work of Portuguese Language teachers. |
