Resumo: | This paper proposes a conversational analysis of some language negotiation sequences between Roman speakers in two international trade fairs (in France and Italy). Through the analysis of audio-visual data, we observe how speakers naturally deal with a plurilingual situation, what their attitude is towards the use of a plurilingual conversation and through what kind of practices the latter is realised. Participants’ motivation is also taken into account as a key element that drives speakers to get involved in a plurilingual conversation. |
