Resumo: In the current effervescence in which the world finds itself, with sociopolitical crises and upheavals of all kinds, some phenomena of (de)valuation of languages-cultures, also verified in the 20th century, have become evident. The idea of ​​this thematic section is to bring together texts that discuss the historical course of languages ​​that, implanted or adopted during a process of colonization or political domination, have acquired different statutes of uses, among which are official, co-official, of the national language or even the franca language. We are interested in the effect of this path, in interface with the current status in the speech community, both locally and in relations with other spaces or communities.

A ideia desta seção temática é reunir textos que discutam o percurso histórico de línguas que, implantadas ou adotadas durante um processo de colonização ou de dominação política, tenham adquirido estatutos diversos de usos, dentre os quais, o de oficialidade, de co-oficialidade, o de língua nacional ou mesmo o de língua franca.
