Resumo: This article aims at problematizing the representations of gender, sexuality, race, and social class markers in disinformation practices about Brazilian education, while considering their impact on the construction of an imaginary about science and education in the country. Drawing on the theoretical-methodological framework of Franco-Brazilian discourse analysis and intersectional feminist studies, the study analysis excerpts extracted from disinformation pieces that were (re)produced by agents of the Brazilian state over a period of four years, as verified by fact-checking organizations. Results indicate that, as an apparatus of a neoliberal-conservative transnational project, disinformation seems to intertwine the functioning of technologies by which such a project is established: namely whiteness and cisheteropatriarchy. Hence, through the dissemination of disinformation about education, a utilitarian ideal of education and science is propagated, thus exacerbating inequalities and eroding democracy.
