“If this street was mine...": educational processes resulting from social practices in art

Resumo: This paper, an experience report, aims to share the process and results of a university degree extension activity, which comprises music, drama and literature, professors and undergraduates, teachers and students of basic school, of a school for people with special needs and of the music school were all part of this activity, which was developed in a small town in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In order to bring up reflections upon the possibilities and hardships of carrying out such tasks, the theoretical reference lies upon the concepts of both social practices and educational processes of Oliveira et al. (2014), the dialogical concept of Freire (2005) and social interaction of Vygotsky (1998; 2001). According to the development of the activities, both teachers and children interacted, teaching and learning with one another by acting, singing and playing. Thus, social practices involving construction-reconstruction processes of arts performances demand involvement, readiness, commitment and passion for what is done, mainly concerning the love for others based upon trust and hope that all of us are capable, hence the value of education.

Thus, social practices involving construction-reconstruction processes of arts performances demand involvement, readiness, commitment and passion for what is done, mainly concerning the love for others based upon trust and hope that all of us are capable, hence the value of education. Este texto, um relato de experiência, busca compartilhar o processo e os resultados de uma atividade de extensão universitária envolvendo música, teatro e literatura, da qual participaram professores e estudantes da universidade, da escola de educação básica, da escola de pessoas com deficiências e da escola de música, todas localizadas em uma cidade do interior de Minas Gerais. De modo a suscitar reflexões acerca das possibilidades e dificuldades de realização de práticas como essa, o referencial teórico se sustenta nos conceitos de práticas sociais e processos educativos de Oliveira et al. (2014), dialogicidade de Freire (2005) e interação social de Vygotsky (1998; 2001). Na medida em que as atividades foram desenvolvidas, tanto os/a professores/as como as crianças interagiram, ensinando e aprendendo uns com os outros, encenando, cantando e tocando.
