Resumo: This article is a summary of the results of the research entitled "Possibilities and challenges for teaching practice in the student learning process: the use of New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) in the teaching of geography in the Pernambuco state public network", which seeks to understand better The change in the teaching work of teachers of Geography of basic education, confronted with ICTs. Our methodological inroads were driven by distinct approaches (quantitative and qualitative), but complementary. As results of the research, we find that the teachers of the schools investigated, have great affinities with the NICT, however, the limitations of an initial formation that brings in its curricular proposal elements to subsidize its practices are evident, which brings us to new investigations in the Within the curriculum of the training courses in the area of ​​Geography.

Nossas incursões metodológicas foram movidas por abordagens distintas (quantitativa e qualitativa), porém complementares.
