Resumo: | This article aims to analyze the meanings produced by elementary school students of a public school in Ribeirão Preto about school failure. For this purpose, literary texts, journalistic texts and short stories on subject education, evaluation and school failure were read and interpreted in the classroom. Based on this, the students produced argumentative texts, oral and written, that constituted the corpus of the research. The analysis was based on the concepts of discourse, ideology, archive, discursive formation and on the notion of forgetfulness proposed by Michel Pêcheux, as well as on the studies on Education and school failure. We could say that the dominant discourse on school failure, that is, the one which blames the lack of learning on the student himself, is repeated by the research subjects, who do not doubt the effect of the ideology, nor do they establish an argument against this discourse. |

Para ello, se abordaron e interpretaron textos literarios, periodísticos y tiras cómicas en el aula. En base a esto, los estudiantes produjeron textos argumentativos, orales y escritos, que constituyeron el corpus de la investigación. El análisis se basó en los conceptos de discurso, ideología, archivo, formación discursiva y la noción de olvido propuesta por Michel Pêcheux, así como en estudios sobre educación y fracaso escolar. Podemos decir que el discurso dominante sobre el fracaso escolar, es decir, lo que culpa al alumno por no aprender, lo repiten los sujetos de investigación, que no dudan del efecto de la ideología, ni discuten contra este discurso.Este artigo objetiva analisar os sentidos produzidos por alunos do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola pública de Ribeirão Preto - SP sobre o fracasso escolar. Para isso, foram lidos e interpretados, em sala de aula, textos literários, jornalísticos e tirinhas que abordam temas sobre Educação, avaliação e fracasso escolar. Com base nisso, os alunos produziram textos argumentativos, orais e escritos, que constituíram o corpus da pesquisa. A análise fundamentou-se nos conceitos de discurso, ideologia, arquivo, formação discursiva e na noção de esquecimentos propostos por Michel Pêcheux, bem como nos estudos sobre Educação e fracasso escolar. Podemos dizer que o discurso dominante sobre o fracasso escolar, qual seja, o que atribui a culpa pela não aprendizagem ao próprio aluno, é repetido pelos sujeitos da pesquisa, que não duvidam do efeito da ideologia, tampouco instauram uma argumentação contrária a esse discurso.
