From training to teaching activities in Early Childhood Education: the male teaching taboo

The general objective of this study is to analyze, from a historical, socioeconomic and political perspective, the reality in which the male presence in the initial training course for pedagogue teachers and the possible teaching role in the education of young children is very low and, for now, target of several stereotyped social discourses, which support the idea of non-belonging. Qualitative and exploratory in nature, the same, concentrated in the act of provoking a new look at given gender impositions that support the stereotyped idea in relation to the spaces of men and women in the educational sphere. It highlights, in particular, that the male presence in the Pedagogy course and in the teaching exercise in Early Childhood Education is still a taboo to be overcome. It points out that, when the male presence exists in these spaces, it is the target of several questions about its morals, ethics, professionalism and even its masculinity.
