The research conducted at the Faculty of Mathematics of the Federal University of Uberlândia aims to identify the geometric knowledge that future Mathematics teachers participating in the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID) and the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) at UFU, in 2023 possess. The specific objectives are to understand the development of geometry in Brazil and its teaching and to identify research related to geometric knowledge and the PIBID and PRP programs. To collect the empirical material, a form was proposed so that we could understand the ease and difficulties of undergraduates in understanding this area of ​​knowledge: geometry. Furthermore, this research conducted a survey of studies carried out in the last six years with the same theme to verify the similarities and differences between what they did and what we now propose. By analyzing the material obtained, it was possible to perceive topics in which the study participants have more facilities, which would be those chosen for their classes, and topics with more difficulties, which they would leave aside if they could. Furthermore, participants seem to want to find ways to change this reality so that their future students have better experiences with geometry.
