Resumo: The research aims to understand how Jordan Peele reframes the role of the black subject in the works Get Out (2017) and Nope (2022), using the theoretical basis of the narratives and their associations with time, culture and blackness. The trajectory of the role of black people in horror cinema is marked by stereotyping and inferiority of their existence and intellectuality to enhance the marks of racism in society and subjugate them as servants of whiteness. To deepen the debate, it is necessary to differentiate horror films with blacks and black horror films. By understanding the differences, it is understood that Jordan Peele uses his platform to change this scenario in his works, using black history and social aspects of blackness to develop his plots and promote reflections. Still, the director portrays the stereotyping of black bodies through veiled racism in Get Out and placing them as spectators of their own lives and denounces Hollywood's erasure of black individuals in Nope.

Ao compreender as diferenciações, entende-se que Jordan Peele utiliza a sua plataforma para mudar esse cenário nas suas obras, utilizando a história negra e aspectos sociais da negritude para desenvolver seus enredos e promover reflexões.
