The objective of this work is to report the experience in the implementation process of the Human Resources sector in a small industry of electrical transformers in the interior of São Paulo, starting from a mandatory internship in Organizational and Work Psychology. The elaboration of this work was based on the descriptive analysis of the activities carried out during the internship, associating them to the literature on the theme. The results show the importance of the human resources sector in a small company, because regardless of the size of the organization, having a professional specialized in working with people management is a differential for the organization to achieve its goals. In addition, it expands the field of work in Organizational and Work Psychology, demonstrating to the organization's leaders how a professional in the field can contribute to the improvement of the work environment for employees, in addition to cooperating strategically to achieve organizational goals. The internship proved to be quite advantageous for the trainee, since it made it possible to put theoretical concepts into practice, with the support of supervision, in addition to being able to associate teaching, research and practice, being able to start his professional career. Finally, it is observed that the topic still lacks studies that can serve as a reference on the area of human resources in small companies.
