Resumo: In December 2019, China, it was identified the transmission of a new coronavirus, named SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). In March 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a pandemic situation. Furthermore, while international authorities adopted these recommendations, the Brazilian Chief Executive was going in the opposite direction, adopting a revisionist discourse, claiming for the end of social isolation and minimizing the health crises. From that point of view, we have a bibliographical qualitative research constructed from books, magazines, scientific articles, journalistic material, among other productions that helped in the construction of this article. Finally, we can conclude that the actions of the Brazilian president and his followers portrait the cruelty of necropolitics, putting the economy above the populations’ life. We can also stand out that the majority of people dying of COVID-19 are considered disposable.
