Extension actions in the context of selective collection at school: a form of environmental education

Resumo: The objective of this extension activity was to insert the principles of environmental education in the lives of students and school communities in the city of Passos, aiming at the propagation of knowledge and practice of selective collection, as well as dissemination of sustainable habits with correct orientation of disposal of municipal solid waste (MSW). Lectures, educational competitions were held and a campaign to collect recyclable materials was launched for the community. It was observed that the gymkhana aroused a greater engagement and active participation of students in the campaign to collect recyclables, in which about 1574 kg of materials were collected, in addition to 3329 tickets for the raffle of a bicycle and basket with sweets. It was concluded that the playful activities and lectures positively influenced the behavior of the students.

It was concluded that the playful activities and lectures positively influenced the behavior of the students.El objetivo de esta actividad de extensión fue insertar los principios de la educación ambiental en la vida de los estudiantes y las comunidades escolares de la ciudad de Passos, con el objetivo de la propagación del conocimiento y la práctica de la recolección selectiva, así como la difusión de hábitos sostenibles con una correcta orientación de la eliminación de residuos sólidos urbanos (RSU). Se realizaron conferencias, concursos educativos y se lanzó una campaña de recolección de material es reciclables para la comunidad. Se observó que la gymkhana despertó un mayor compromiso y participación activa de los estudiantes en la campaña de recolección de materiales reciclables, en la que se recolectaron cerca de 1574 kg de materiales, además de 3329 boletos para la rifa de una bicicleta y canasta con dulces. Se concluyó que las actividades lúdicas y las conferencias influyeron positivamente en el comportamiento de los estudiantes.O objetivo desta atividade de extensão foi inserir os princípios da educação ambiental na vida de alunos e comunidades escolares da cidade de Passos, objetivando a propagação do conhecimento e prática da coleta seletiva, bem como disseminação de hábitos sustentáveis com orientação correta de descarte dos resíduos sólidos urbanos (RSU). Foram realizadas palestras, gincanas educativas e lançada para a comunidade uma campanha de coleta de materiais recicláveis. Observou-se que a gincana despertou um maior engajamento e participação ativa dos estudantes na campanha de arrecadação dos recicláveis, em que foram coletados cerca de 1574 kg de materiais, além dos 3329 bilhetes para o sorteio de uma bicicleta e cesta com doces.
