Peterson, “The Message” ressaltou mudanças significativas quando comparada as bíblias de linguagem padrão. A tradução publicada no Brasil, “A Mensagem”, de Carlos Caldas, nem sempre se atenta a tais questões. Propomos, então, uma tradução, com adaptações locais, em função ao público alvo (cristãos brasileiros de costumes mais rígidos) de duas cartas de Paulo na versão “The Message”, Romanos e Efésios. Para alcançar tal objetivo nos atentamos em traduzir as oralidades de forma equivalente na cultura meta, substituímos termos anacrônicos por termos já existentes no período de autoria do texto, acrescemos informações essenciais em trechos ambíguos ou omissos, além de analisarmos anteriormente à tradução as diferenças de formatação, citações e acréscimos do trabalho de Peterson. Peterson's bible in contemporary language, "The Message", analysis highlighted significant changes when compared to standard language bibles. The translation published in Brazil, "A Mensagem", by Carlos Caldas, does not always pay attention to such questions. We propose, therefore, a translation, with some local adaptations, oriented to the target audience (more strict Brazilian Christians) of two letters written by Paul in "The Message" version, Romans and Ephesians. In order to achieve this goal, we attempt to translate oral terms with equivalents in the target culture, we replace anachronistic terms with already existing terms in the authorship’s time, we add essential information in ambiguous sections or in cases of omission, and we also analyze, previously to the translation, differences in the quotations and additions from Peterson's work.
