Resumo: | The objective of the qualitative study is to describe the institutional relationship and themultidimensionality between State and Community in the semiarid region of Alagoas, based on teaching,research and extension. The sensitizing theoretical approach dealt with the themes: institutionalrelationship, to bring - horizontally - the State (three public education organizations) and the Community(family farmers); multidimensionality, by the composition of more than one area of knowledge -Administration, Accounting, Meteorology and Geography; and the teaching, research and extensiontripod, because it involves teachers and students in the action, based on a scientific method, which for the study was the participatory Action-Research (PA). This method assumes that there must be a real social demand - that of family farmers - and that, based on this, scientific knowledge - based on merit - helps to carry out the action, that is, to solve local problems. Data collection, primarily primary, took placethrough informal conversations, intensive interviews and a questionnaire. As considerations, from the PAphases, it was possible to develop actions - built in consensus between teachers, students and farmers -considering the demand of farmers, guided by the notion of coexistence with the semiarid and theexchange of knowledge. |

El enfoque teórico sensibilizador abordó los temas: relación institucional, para acercar - horizontalmente - el Estado (tres organismos de educación pública) y la Comunidad (agricultores familiares); multidimensionalidad, por la composición de más de un área de conocimiento - Administración, Contabilidad, Meteorología y Geografía; y el trípode de docencia, investigación y extensión, porque involucra a docentes y estudiantes en la acción, basada en un método científico, que para el estudio fue la Investigación-Acción participativa (AP). Este método asume que debe haber una demanda social real - la de los agricultores familiares - y que, a partir de ella, el conocimiento científico - basado en el mérito - ayuda a llevar a cabo la acción, es decir, a resolver los problemas locales. La recopilación de datos, principalmente primaria, se llevó a cabo a través de conversaciones informales, entrevistas intensivas y un cuestionario. Como consideraciones, desde las fases de AP, fue posible desarrollar acciones - construidas en consenso entre docentes, estudiantes y agricultores - considerando la demanda de los agricultores, guiadas por la noción de convivencia con el semiárido y el intercambio de conocimientos.O objetivo do estudo qualitativo é descrever a relação institucional e a multidimensionalidade entreEstado e Comunidade no semiárido alagoano, a partir do ensino, da pesquisa e da extensão. A abordagem teórica sensibilizadora tratou dos temas: relação institucional, para aproximar - horizontalmente - Estado (três organizações públicas de ensino) e Comunidade (agricultores familiares); multidimensionalidade, pela composição de mais de uma área do conhecimento - Administração, Contabilidade, Meteorologia e Geografia; e o tripé ensino, pesquisa e extensão, por envolver na ação docentes e discentes, a partir de um método científico, que para o estudo foi a Pesquisa-Ação (PA) participativa. Este método parte do princípio que deve haver uma demanda social real - a dos agricultores familiares - e que, a partir desta, o conhecimento científico - por mérito - auxilia à condução da ação, ou seja, na resolução dos problemas locais. A coleta dos dados, primordialmente primária, se deu por meio de conversas informais, entrevistas intensivas e questionário.
