Organizational culture of Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas: npiut to institutional policies

Resumo: This study aimed to identify current organizational culture in Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas so that congruent institutional policies may be developed. Using Cameron and Quinn (2011) Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI), the dominant culture was determined. The study adopted descriptive design with a statistical sample of 55 employees on the College. It was found out that the dominant culture of the institution is the Clan Culture which is characterized by values flexibility and internal control. It is an employee-focused culture driven by collaboration, support, and trust. The Adhocracy culture is the least manifested culture, which is characterized by innovation, adaptive and flexible. The study found no significant difference on profile variables with Hierarchy and Market Culture. Conversely, Clan Culture and Adhocracy Culture was found significantly different in terms of gender and age, respectively. The findings and recommendations of this study may be used as a basis when revisiting the college’s institutional policies.

Utilizando el Instrumento de Evaluación de la Cultura Organizacional (OCAI) de Cameron y Quinn (2011), se determinó la cultura dominante. El estudio adoptó un diseño descriptivo con una muestra estadística de 55 empleados del Colegio. Se encontró que la cultura dominante de la institución es la Cultura del Clan que se caracteriza por la flexibilidad de valores y el control interno. Es una cultura centrada en los empleados impulsada por la colaboración, el apoyo y la confianza. La cultura Adhocracia es la cultura menos manifestada, que se caracteriza por la innovación, la adaptabilidad y la flexibilidad. El estudio no encontró diferencias significativas en las variables del perfil con Jerarquía y Cultura de Mercado. Por el contrario, se encontró que la cultura del clan y la cultura adhocracia eran significativamente diferentes en términos de género y edad, respectivamente. Los hallazgos y recomendaciones de este estudio pueden usarse como base al revisar las políticas institucionales de la universidad.Este estudo teve como objetivo identificar a cultura organizacional atual no Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas para que políticas institucionais congruentes possam ser desenvolvidas. Utilizando o Instrumento de Avaliação da Cultura Organizacional (OCAI) de Cameron e Quinn (2011), a cultura dominante foi determinada. O estudo adotou desenho descritivo com amostra estatística de 55 funcionários da Faculdade. Verificou-se que a cultura dominante da instituição é a Cultura do Clã que se caracteriza por valores de flexibilidade e controle interno. É uma cultura focada no funcionário, impulsionada pela colaboração, suporte e confiança. A cultura Adhocracia é a cultura menos manifestada, que se caracteriza pela inovação, adaptativa e flexível. O estudo não encontrou diferença significativa nas variáveis de perfil com Hierarquia e Cultura de Mercado. Por outro lado, a Cultura do Clã e a Cultura da Adhocracia foram significativamente diferentes em termos de sexo e idade, respectivamente.
