School inclusion of students with autistic spectrum disorder (asd) in professional and technological education: challenges and possibilities

Resumo: | his article discusses educational inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder - ASD, pondering the possibilities and challenges of this inclusion, in general, and in professional and Technological Education, in particular. The study was developed in a qualitative approach, based on the bibliographic-documentary research method. Data acquisition occurred virtually, through access to the database of the Catalogue of Dissertations and Theses of the Coordination of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). It was concluded that the inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder demands didactic and pedagogical adaptations and the social commitment of all those involved in the educational process, especially education professionals, family, society and public policy formulators. This inclusion is effective when students with ASD obtain advances (although modest and partial) in the processes of learning, socialization, self-care and understanding of the dimensions of citizenship. It was also identified the need to expand studies on the subject, especially with regard to the field of Professional and Technological Education, because the advancement of studies in the area may contribute to the improvement of the processes of inclusion of these students in this educational modality. |

El estudio se desarrolló en un enfoque cualitativo, basado en el método de investigación bibliográfico-documental. Se concluyó que la inclusión de los estudiantes con Trastorno del Espectro Autista es factible si se realizan las adaptaciones necesarias y si existe un compromiso social de todos los involucrados en el proceso; que es necesario ampliar los estudios sobre el tema, especialmente en lo que se refiere al campo de la Educación Profesional y Tecnológica; y que la inclusión educativa de los estudiantes con TEA es efectiva cuando la escuela logra asegurar su aprendizaje y contribuir a su desarrollo – lo que incluye la socialización, el autocuidado, el cuidado de los demás y la comprensión de las dimensiones de la ciudadanía.Este artigo discute a temática da inclusão educacional de estudantes com Transtorno do Espectro Autista – TEA, ponderando sobre as possibilidades e desafios dessa inclusão, em geral, e na Educação Profissional e Tecnológica, em particular. O estudo foi desenvolvido em abordagem qualitativa, com base no método da pesquisa bibliográfico-documental.
