The training teachers and the epistemological understandings: revelations of the PNAIC

Resumo: Based on a study carried out in and with the National Pact for Literacy in the Right Age (PNAIC) in a city in the state of Santa Catarina, the present article questions some issues about the imbrications between epistemological conceptions, classroom reality, and literacy processes. Based on the epistemology of Thomas Kuhn, the article emphasizes that many teachers are unaware pedagogical training techniques and methods due to unresolved epistemological understandings during his initial training (first degree).
