Resumo: | Teacher self efficacy belief is the judgment made by the teacher about his or her own abilities to teach and manage the processes of learning and student engagement. The experiences directly performed by the teacher and the observation of models as well as social persuasion and psychophysiological states constitute this judgment. This study aimed to identify and analyze teacher self efficacy for Physical Education teacher majors. The sample consisted of 159 undergraduates from four institutions who answered to a self efficacy scale for Physical Education teacher and a form of characterization. Participants showed a high level of self efficacy and highlighted the direct experiences as the main source for this result. Regarding the role of teacher self efficacy belief, it was concluded that these results can provide guidance for planning strategies to strengthen this belief during the educational process of these future teachers. |

Con el fin de investigar la auto-creencias de eficacia de los futuros profesores de educación física, 159 estudiantes de 3 º y 4 ª serie de cursos de postgrado en Educación Física respondió a auto-escala de la eficacia de profesor de educación física y un cuestionario para la caracterización. Los participantes perciben a sí mismos a un alto nivel de auto-eficacia, reconociendo la importancia de la experiencia directa de la enseñanza durante el entrenamiento. Estos resultados proporcionan directrices para la planificación de estrategias de enseñanza con vistas a la construcción de las creencias en sí mismo una mayor eficacia durante el proceso de formación, dado que las consecuencias de esta creencia se asocia con la conducta de compromiso y la participación en la tarea de la enseñanza.Crença de autoeficácia docente é o julgamento feito pelo professor acerca das próprias capacidades para ensinar e gerenciar os processos de aprendizagem e engajamento dos alunos. As experiências vividas diretamente pelo professor e as de observação de modelos, bem como a persuasão social e os estados psicofisiológicos constituem esse julgamento. Este estudo objetivou identificar e analisar a autoeficácia de estudantes de Educação Física. A amostra foi composta por 159 licenciandos de quatro instituições, os quais responderam a uma escala de autoeficácia de professor de Educação Física e a um questionário de caracterização. Os participantes apresentaram elevado nível de autoeficácia e apontaram as experiências diretas como fonte principal para esse resultado.
