Outstanding moments of teaching trajectory in Physical Education

Resumo: The aim of this study, which involves life story was to analyze the outstanding moments of teaching trajectory of Physical Educators. Four Physical Education teachers, who have been teaching at public schools in Santa Catarina State for more than 25 years, took part in this investigation. In addition to documental analysis, semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from Physical Education teachers and their co-workers. Content analysis technique was utilized in data analysis. Extra classroom activities (sports tournaments, choreographic performances at commemorative dates, administrative positions) were pointed out among the best moments of teaching career, while the worst events were based on work conditions, dissatisfaction with educational policies and deceptions with the teaching working class. Although the outstanding events had been experienced individually, teachers revealed to experience many similar episodes at school daily routine, which allowed for a greater comprehension of the Physical Education teaching career.

Participaram da investigação quatro professores de Educação Física com mais de vinte e cinco anos de intervenção profissional no magistério público estadual de Santa Catarina. Na coleta das informações foram utilizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas com os professores de Educação Física, com os colegas de trabalho, além da análise documental. A técnica de análise de conteúdo foi utilizada na análise das informações. Os eventos extraclasses (competições esportivas, apresentações em datas comemorativas, cargos administrativos) destacaram-se entre os melhores momentos que marcaram o percurso docente, enquanto os piores acontecimentos pautaram-se nas condições de trabalho, no descontentamento com as políticas educacionais e nas decepções com a classe docente.
